Delbert Britton and the Country Hustlers

Delbert Britton is a singer/songwriter that appeals to all ages. Whether it’s the unique ability to sing a song just as it sounds, be it Willie or Waylon or Johnny or George, or the heartfelt, “been there, done that” originals that everyone can relate to, this entertainer has something for everyone’s liking. His performance consists of a blend of country, southern rock, and blues as well as many of his own originals. He realized his career goal at a young age, when his Mom worked at a Yacht Club in Naples where he’d sing songs for money from the country club members and he even wrote his first song at the tender age of four.

In his teenage years, Delbert put together a band, The Country Hustlers, a name which he still uses when he performs. In 1986, Delbert’s parents, Jack and Lora, moved from Naples to McIntosh, and as referenced in the song written and dedicated to his Dad… despite building a business for his son to one day take control of, Delbert knew he had “guitar playin” in his heart. Delbert has fond memories of Naples and the surrounding areas, especially Sundays spent at Stan’s in Goodland where he performed with many great musicians. Delbert performs locally and has opened at Silver Springs for Kathy Mattea and John Anderson. He proudly plays at many U.S. Veterans’ establishments, clubs, parties, and weddings, no event is too big or too small.

One of Delbert’s favorite past times is fishing (some of his best catches were while spending time and guiding on beautiful Orange Lake) and he loves Gator football. He enjoys time with family and encourages his daughter, Dallas, who is also musically talented, playing saxophone in her high school band as well as learning piano. He can also be found taking interest in Delbert Jr. (a k a DJ), his son, at football practice and games watching and cheering for the boy who has inherited his love (and talent) for the sport.
